Fat Loss ( Lipotherapy )
These days we all try to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but each and every one of us has some unwanted pockets of fat that just don't go away no matter how hard we exercise.
This is when the words "liposuction" and "lipotherapy" start popping into our minds.
These two procedures significantly differ: Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery with use of a general anesthesia while Lipotherapy is a non-surgical treatment which doesn't require general anesthesia or down-time. That is why many prefer the latter one.
Lipotherapy (sometime referred as lipodissolve ) involves the use of an injectable solution which breaks down stubborn, localized areas of fat. Once fat has been dissolved, it is eliminated through the body's own lymphatic system.
Not to be confused with Mesotherapy, Lipotherapy uses different substances that results in faster response times. These are Phosphatidylcholine and Sodium Deoxycholate. Lipotherapy injections have shown good results for minor to medium body sculpting of specific areas of the body like stomach area, upper arm ,thigh ,chin ,hips ,and so forth. Lipotherapy has also shown excellent results for smoothing and even removing cellulite. In comparison , surgical liposuction dose not treat cellulite and in fact often ends up enhancing pre-existing cellulite, making the cellulite more prominent.
It is impossible to guarantee specific results as individual responses can vary but a large amount of people experience inches of loss on the area that received the treatment. To experience the best results, ideal lipotherapy candidate would be a person that is aged over eighteen, is in good health, exercises regularly and has a body mass index (BMI) of 30. Anyone with a BMI higher than that would lose insufficient fat so the results won't be noticeable. It is also a procedure that is not recommended if you suffer from cardiac problems, diabetes or HIV or take medication that thins the blood.
Lipotherapy is often referred to as a "lunchtime treatment" because it is an outpatient procedure, meaning you can normally leave within 15 to 30 minutes of undergoing it. After the treatment, there may be a minor pain, throbbing and tenderness; bruising, swelling for 48 hours and few nodules which will disappear within two weeks.
